BY-LAWS (continued)
ARTICLE IV - Organization
SECTION 1
The Bedford County Deputy's Association shall
consist of the officers (Board of Directors) of
the Association and the members.
SECTION 2
The officers. (Board of Directors) shall be
composed of law enforcement members of the
Bedford County Deputy's Association who are
active members and have been for a period of one
year or more prior thereto.
SECTION 3
The affairs of the Association shall be managed
by the Board of Directors, which shall consist
of the President, Vice President, Secretary,
Treasurer, Sgt. At Arms, Chaplain, and three
Trustees.
ARTICLE V - Officers
SECTION 1, PRESIDENT
The President shall preside at all meetings of
the association and enforce compliance with
by-laws, rules and regulations adopted in
pursuance thereof. He shall appoint all members
of all standing and special committees. He
shall, with the Secretary or Treasurer, sign all
contracts and other official documents, and sign
all orders on the treasury or other depository
for disbursements of Association funds. He
shall have the authority
to inquire into any matter affecting the
Association.
SECTION 2, VICE PRESIDENT
In the absence of or at the direction of the
President, the Vice President shall discharge
the duties of the President. He shall perform
such other duties as ordered by the Board of
Directors.
SECTION 3, SECRETARY AND
TREASURER
They shall have the general custody of all
books, documents, papers and records of the
Association. They shall, with the President,
attest and seal all duly authorized contracts of
the Association. They shall have charge and be
in custody of all funds and securities of the
Association, receive and give receipts for all
money due and deposit all such funds in such
banks, trust companies or depositories as shall
be selected by the Association. They shall,
along with the President or other officer,
endorse all disbursements.
SECTION 4, SERGEANT AT ARMS
The Sergeant At Arms shall be responsible at
all meetings for the physical set up of the
meeting rooms, the orderly conduct of meetings,
the greeting of all guests and visitors, and the
general safety of the members present. He shall
attend the doors and permit entrance to no
person who is not qualified.
SECTION 5, CHAPLAIN
The Chaplain shall be responsible for
maintaining a spiritual atmosphere at the
meeting of the Association. He will assist any
member with spiritual help and give aid and
comfort to them and/or their family in time of
distress.
SECTION 6, TRUSTEES
There shall be three Trustees who may be either
an active member or associate member. The
Trustees shall provide guidance and assistance
on any matter affecting the Association. The
Trustees shall be subject to serve on any
committee when requested by the President.
